INTRODUCING OTION SOAP BAR'S FABULOUS SOAP MAKING INSTRUCTORS
Erik Faiola is the Manager of Otion – The Soap Bar. He has made over 400 batches of cold process soap and enjoys teaching all the aspects of cold process Soapmaking. Erik also teaches Melt and Pour (beginning and advanced), Liquid Soapmaking and Lotionmaking. He has a degree in Business Administration and enjoys playing with his dogs, skiing and golfing in his spare time. Private instruction time with Erik is $45 per hour, 2 hour minimum.
Kathryn Hackney is lead instructor and assistant manager at Otion. She loves building confidence in beginners when working with sodium hydroxide for the first time so that making soap is stress-free, fun and very rewarding! Kat teaches toiletries, bath fizzies lip balm, lotion, cold process beginning and advanced, melt-and-pour beginning and advanced, hot process and rebatching. She specializes in advanced swirling techniques in cold process and has taught at the Handcrafted Soapmaker’s Guild Conference in Miami, at the Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup, and at our very own Soap Weekend Intensive events. She has a degree in fine art and has oil paintings and murals nationwide. Her favorite scent is tomato leaf and she enjoys hiking and paragliding in her spare time. Private instruction time with Kat is $45 per hour, 2 hour minimum.
Jill Heuser is the soapmaking artist behind Northwest Scents. Northwest Scents grew out of one woman’s dream for quality, gentle and unique bath and body products. Jill’s goal is to use the highest quality ingredients available to create the finest selection of bath and body products possible. Using exotic butters, oils and other natural ingredients to nourish and pamper her customers. Northwest Scents has quickly become a local favorite. She creates products in her “spare time” when she is not wrangling her three energetic kids. Jill has been making bath & body products for 8 years and has taught at Otion for the last 5. With her degree in Biology, she’s a natural at explaining the chemistry behind lotion making. Private instruction with Jill is $45 per hour, 2 hour minimum.
Anne-Marie Faiola is the Owner of Otion – The Soap Bar and Brambleberry.com. She blogs at SoapQueen.com, is a frequent contributor to the Teach Soap Forum and does the popular web t.v. series, SoapQueen.TV With over 16 years of cold process experience, Anne-Marie can make all of the soaps (Hot Process, Cold Process, Melt and Pour, ITOHP, Liquid Soap) as well as most every toiletry available to the home crafter (emulsified scrubs, body balms, lotions, mineral make up, etc…). When not soaping, Anne-Marie enjoys reading, traveling and jogging. Private instruction time with Anne-Marie is $150 per hour, 2 hour minimum.
