Morningtide Shower Fizzies

Originally published in our April newsletter, this project is an easy way to help banish morning sleepiness and congestion.  Simply stick them near your shower drain as you shower and feel the relief.  Because you’re not soaking in them, like with a  traditional bath fizzy, we’ve omitted any moisturizing goodies and over-scented them so they really hit your nose.

Morningtide Title Card COMPRESSED

8 oz Citric Acid
16oz Baking Soda
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Lime Essential Oil
Midnight Blue LaBomb
Milky Way Guest Shells Mold
Witch Hazel (optional)

Morningtide Steps

Step 1: Mix your citric acid and baking soda well, ensuring there are no clumps.  Wear gloves!  The citric acid can be irritating if you have any broken or sentistive cuticles or papercuts, and can scratch your manicure.

Step 2: Add 1oz of Eucalyptus and Lime essential oils and mix.  This may be enough liquid to bind your bomb together, but if it’s not holding its shape when you squeeze it, spritz your mixture with witch hazel.

Step 3: Add 3ml of Ocean Blue LaBomb and mix well.  Pop any clumps of colorant with your fingertips to make sure you have a smooth color.

Step 4: Pack into your molds!  Be sure to press well all around, or your edges may crumble.  Remember: the harder you pack, the longer it’ll fizz and fill your shower with sinus-soothing power!

Step 5: After 20 minutes, unmold your fizzies.  Let them dry overnight before packaging them or moving them.

  1. Made these last week and my husband loves them. In our shower they worked better (and last longer) if you place them near the back of the shower. My batch made 12 and I didn’t need to use any witch hazel.
